Security Systems
SurveillanceThe following gives some information on the various methods used to fix cables to different types of surfaces and structures.
STAPLES
The most popular method of fixing cables is by the use of a staple gun. This is suitable for soft surfaces such as wood and plaster, but not for brick work or concrete. A staple gun can hold about 100 u-shaped staples and can be used on cable sizes up to and including 8 core. Staples should be set not more than 150mm along the length of the cable.

CABLE CLIPS
Where a cable needs to be fixed to brick-work or concrete then cable clips of the appropriate size should be used and spaced about 150mm along the cable.

For cable runs terminating at a junction box, (ok other equipment), or where a cable runs around a corner, the clips should be placed about 20mm from the box or corner.
